Coverage for Election 2008 is Brought to You by Respectably French!'s RFN and the Harvard Independent

Who are we and what are we doing? This web site grew out of a collaboration between Respectably French's Nicholas Krasney and Ho Tuan, and the Harvard Independent, in an effort to integrate an incisive, organized news presentation with Web 2.0 interactivity, coverage, and commentary. The result is a web site where blogging, vlogging, commentary, chat, social news, and live video are seamlessly integrated into a web dashboard where college students can both absorb and participate in political coverage and conversation.

Our goal is to add new breadth and depth to the level of political discourse and dialog at Harvard. Too often have terrific discussions of political events on IOP Open been halted due to concerns over e-mail spam, or been constrained by the narrow bandwidth of the communication medium. Other times, the absence of an organized, centralized political web site at Harvard has impeded the flow of valuable information and have kept people from events they would have liked to know about.

We hope you enjoy this early manifestation of our vision for Election 2008. We hope you’ll watch, read, and participate. Stay tuned for updates about what we’re doing next.

For now, Nicholas Krasney and Ho Tuan are being dispatched to cover the RNC. Other great bloggers and vloggers will cover the DNC.
